POINTBREAK EA New Demo Relese (Build Feb 8, 2008)

February 8, 2008

I release a new update for PointBreak 5 Expert Advisor Demo Version.
(Build Feb 8, 2008)

The new update include:

  1. Fix on M1 cycle lotsize bug.
  2. Additional Parameter for M-cycle:
  3. The new demo version will expired until June 2008.

Before download the new demo release, please read additional informations below:

The logic behind Pointbreak EA is:

  1. Pyramiding system; we add more positions as the market is moving in our favor based on technical analysis.
  2. The pyramiding technique work best on situation where the positions become skew to 1 direction.
    For uptrend market, the EA work best if the positions skew to LONG positions;
and for downtrend market, the EA work best if the positions skew to SHORT positions.
  3. Point Break EA will profitable on a trending market and cause a drawdown on very choppy market.

Problem with All Technical Analysis Trading System:

The problem with all technical analysis strategy trading strategy is all indicators will be useless against sudden fundamental news that moves the currency against our positions.

On January 2008: EUR market was very choppy because of 2 times cut rate on USD and the first time was above all expectation; the news caused some drawdown in M cycle. (if your M cycle opened lot of sell positions before the news came; or you did not manually interrupted the EA when you hear the cut rate results).

How can you manually interrupt PointBreak EA?

You can interrupt the logic behind PointBreak EA using MSP ABOVE or MSP BELOW functions.
MSP ABOVE functions: Moving the Starting Point above the current positions.
MSP BELOW functions: Moving the Starting Point above the current positions.

Now, I will explain how to solve the drawdown at M cycle using manually MSP (Moving Starting Position) for the current situation.

FIRST:
We need to detect where the EUR market will go (in the following weeks).

My last prediction this week for EUR: EUR will fall below 1.4500 before continue uptrend towards above 1.4850 next week. The low if it possible should be remain above 1.4360.

IT MEANS THAT WE NEED TO SKEW THE POINTBREAK EA POSITIONS TO UPTREND DIRECTIONS, BY CLOSING SOME PROFITABLE SELL POSITIONS AND ADDING SOME BUY POSITIONS IN ORDER TO CLOSE OUR M-CYCLE PROFITABLE.

SECOND:
We need to manually Moving the Starting Point BELOW (for Special Editions).

These are the steps to manually MSP BELOW (the time I write this message, EUR is at 1.4490):

  1. Close the profitable SELL position (in your M cycle).
  2. Move the Start Point M1 to last highest SELL position (in your M cycle)
  3. Open the Global Variable and set variable MACDBUYSELL to 0.
  4. Restart your MT4 platform.

(You need to open the Comment at your MT4 trading platform to get informations which positions are C-cycle and which are M-Cycle.)

For more information about MSP ABOVE and MSP BELOW (for SE Editions and Full Editions), please read additional PointBreak EA Tutorials at our forums.

If you need guidance or have some questions about MSP functions, post it at our forum.

NEW UPDATE ON POINTBREAK EXPERT ADVISOR (Build Feb 8, 2008):

  1. The new release fix lot-size problem on M cycle; which sometime set back to 0.01 if you accidentally change the period or restart your MT4.
  2. There are additional 3 new parameters for M cycle:
    M1_Lot_Multiply = 2;
    M_Buy_Pos = true;
    M_Sell_Pos = true;

Note:

  1. By default M Cycle will open new positions with 2x bigger then C cycle.
If you fill M1_Lot_Multiply = 1, M Cylce will open new positition with lotsize same as C cycle.
(if you do not like the M1 Lot-size bigger than C cyles).
  2. M_Buy_Pos (default= true)
If you fill M_Buy_Pos = false, the EA will not open Buy Positions on M Cycle.
  3. M_Sell_Pos (default=true).
If you fill M_Sell_Pos = false, the EA will not open Sell Positions on M Cycle.

When we need to set the Parameter M_Buy_Pos & M_Sell_Pos to FALSE ?

You can set the parameter to false if you do not want the EA to add positions to 1 direction.

For example:
You sure the EUR market will be uptrend in following weeks.
If you set the M_Sell_Pos to FALSE, it means you do not want the EA to open another SELL positions which cause additional drawdown when EUR really going up.
(The EA will not open SELL positions on M cycle until you set the the M_Sell_Pos to TRUE again).

IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU UPGRADE TO NEW RELEASE (BUILD ON FEB 08):

  1. You need to check your Global Variables, the lot-size for M Cycle must be the same with C cycle.
If your C cycle opened the positions using 0.02, your M lot-size in global variable should be 0.02 too.
    Please update your M lot-size.
  2. After that restart the MT4.

FractalWizard New Release

January 15, 2008

New release for FractalWizard (Release: Jan 15, 2008) :

I have asked several times to add parameter that enable you to close open positions when there are profit, sometimes FractalWizard already in profit positions but the target too far and you think the price can’t reach the target price.

  1. There are 2 additional parameters:
    - Custom_ProfitTarget (default=10,000~in dollar amount not in pips).
    - Always_ActivateCustomTarget (default=false).
  2. You can use this release to many demo account (not just one).
My suggestion: test it on your broker demo account and InterbankFX demo account (My forward test using InterbankFX).
  3. No need to connect to my server. I receive email that the EA generate:”Your account has not been activated or expired!”. This is because bad internet connection, or your internet connection lost. The new release do not need to connect to my server.

Additional parameters:

  • Custom_ProfitTarget: You can use this parameter to set your own target (in dollar amount, not in pips).
FractalWizard can open more than 1 positions. When you setup this parameter (example $100), the EA will close all positions at $100 profit or more.
Suggestion how to set the target:
Set Custom_ ProfitTarget around $1000 when the EA open 1 standard lot/positions. So when the EA open around 0.1 lot / positions, the suggested user_ target around $100, so on.
You can set the target smaller if you think there will be reversal or there are support or resistance near current price.
  • Always_ActivateCustomTarget: use this target if you want the EA always close when the floating profit reach your custom target.
When you set the parameter to False, the EA still use your target in Cusom_ProfitTarget parameter, but with additional requirement:- The Custom_ProfitTarget only activate if your current equity above last equity watermark. It means your current equity in positive balance (not in drawdown).- Example:
You setup User_Target = $1,000 and Always_Activate_User_Target = False. You lost $2,000 before, so when the floating profit reach $1,000 the Custom_ProfitTarget will not activated. But when when your last lost $900 and the floating profit reach $1,000 the Custome_ProfitTarget will activated.
I suggest you leave this parameters to False. My test show activate the User_CustomTarget only when you are in positive equity balance better than always activate in any conditions (including in drawdown). Unless you really sure the profit can not continue.

The reason: when you always activate the User_CustomTarget in any conditions. Usually you get several small profit, but not enough to cover your losses (like scalping method).

Installation:

You just need to replace FractalWizard (new  release) and restart your MT4. And this version don’t need to use the DLL file.
